I have always found peace of mind in organized ideation. It begins with an idea, whether inspired by an instant moment, years of sensory input, or an emotion. This idea then grows into a concept through extensive trial and error. Whether architecture, robotics, or audio systems, idea-to-concept has included: Drafting, Origami, Clay, Poetry, Music, and Art.

Once a concept is made, it is dimensioned, drawn across every view or axis, and drafted to final dimensions.
For example, for my audio systems, enclosure volumes are measured within the concept drafts along with: crossover size and position, driver phase direction, measurements of listening height, distance, and room volume calculations, and port corrections.
It is imperative that the design stage begins from a measured concept. It is much easier to edit a sketch on paper than multiple sketches in Solidworks.

Conceptualization and Design is a thoughtful and holistic exercise. It cannot be rushed or scheduled.
When designing forms and functions that have a being of their own, a space must be made, and practice followed, to inspire art. This is why I follow a ritualistic method of organizing my surroundings, brewing a pour over, and playing the right music to align my perspective.
